Another interesting quote from the mayor is that he didn’t think it would get like this. Really? I mean, we haven’t actually had a hurricane in over 100 years….so…he didn’t think it was going to be this bad?

Woke up this morning after going to bed at after 3:30AM last night. When I went to bed it “looked” like the river had crested. Apparently it didn’t crest until 8AM this morning.
When I came outside this morning there was a marker on the road that said 10′. However, the river apparently went over 14′ so I’m not sure why it’s marked 10′. The marker pointed out the spot that the river made it to on the street. A new record for my street as I’m sure it’s also the record for many others in the town.
The river is receding now and when it makes it a little more than halfway down the street they will turn on the pumps and the water will be out of the street. That’s when my neighbors come home and the real cleanup begins.
Even though this is going to be a huge cleanup, most of the people on my street are used to this. Those that chose to stay and could walk down the street came out to relax on my parent’s lawn today. There were also 8 of us sitting around a campfire until 3:30AM last night. We have some of the best neighbors.
Here are two of the latest images of the street my parent’s live on. I’m also going to include a shot of the side driveway of Beatties Mill and the Waterfalls of Little Falls. Plus….a Video!
Just realized I have to fix the time stamps in Update 2
Now, here’s a downed tree…and street light it took with it from the Mill.
Here are two shots of the Falls in Little Falls

So, I decided to take a walk down to Willowbrook Mall to see how bad the flooding is there.
So, as I’m crossing the bridge (which was closed to vehicle traffic) I took a few pictures of the businesses around Willowbrook Mall.
It didn’t get any better as we got closer….
Wait….wait…wait. Let’s take a MUCH CLOSER LOOK at that picture…….
Well, apparently he thought he had a great parking spot. You know, next to the river, in a low lying parking lot, in a spot that floods when someone spits into the river. Very very smart.
So, we move on…a few feet. Rt. 23 and the Willowbrook Mall are now the Passaic River….
If you’re curious, the sign says something along the lines of “Road Flooded”……Really? Thank you Captain Obvious….

That is a small road that leads to an area where people live. Yes...people actually live down there.
Another update for my parent’s street coming in a few minutes.

Woke up this morning to the news that a house EXPLODED near my girlfriend’s place. Now, that was interesting….
However the other pretty interesting thing was opening the door to the house at 10:49AM this morning and having a woman ask me if I was No Fear Man. Awesome…I met someone that reads my blog!….Wait…someone actually read my blog? Anyway, here is the 10:49AM photo of the street at my parent’s house.
As time went by I watched the news on the explosion. Thankfully the family was not home. Apparently a wall collapsed and took out a gas line. KABOOM….the house is now a crater.
Went back outside at 3:37PM EST
I’m going to stop this update here but I will do two more updates today. The next one will be for the Willowbrook Mall in Wayne, NJ. It’s pretty much around the corner from my parent’s house.
BTW….Hello if you’re reading this again!
