Little Falls Floods of 2011 Round 3
Flood Waters Incoming
The countdown timer has ended. The water is now coming into the street. The garbage crew has been clearing up as fast as possible. Hopefully they’ll finish soon. I’ll continue to post updates as the water gets higher. I’ve heard all sorts of numbers this time, even hearing that we might break the 1903 record which would put my house under water.

Little Falls About to Flood Again

Just took a walk down my street and around the corner to the street behind me. Wanted to take a few pictures of what really looks like a war zone. Guts of houses, appliances, furniture, mirrors, doors, windows all sitting out in piles along the streets waiting to be cleaned up before the floods come again tomorrow night.

IF it floods like they are saying it will they really need to get those trash crews out there to clean up or we are going to have some MAJOR problems with garbage floating around the streets and in the residents yards and houses.
The last I heard we are looking at 10.5′ for the river which will bring it more than half way down my street. It’s going to be another messy weekend.

Here we go again…
Water Rising on my street
That didn’t take long. Tropical Storm Lee has some rain over our area today and it’s not due to stop for a few days. The Passaic River here just FINALLY went below flood stage and now it’s back over again. At current time it’s just over 8 Feet (7 foot is flood stage here). We’re due to hit 10.9 feet at the river peak on Friday.
It won’t be “as bad” as the floods from Hurricane Irene, but when you get water in your house, or in the case of some of my neighbors down the street who can’t even leave their house without a boat, it’s always considered “bad”.
This is going to be THREE floods in ONE YEAR. Hell, it’s going to be TWO FLOODS IN LESS THAN TWO WEEKS!!!
I wish my neighbors luck, our pumps are already going here.
